For the second year we are hosting Carols by Candlelight together with United Community Church. Bring your friends and family to this festive singalong evening filled with beautiful carols, candlelight, and the joy of celebrating Christ’s birth together. All are warmly welcome!
The Story of Carols by Candlelight
The tradition of Carols by Candlelight began in Melbourne, Australia, in 1938, when radio announcer Norman Banks noticed a lonely man singing Christmas carols by candlelight on his own. Moved by this sight, Banks invited people to gather and sing carols together in community, under the stars, each holding a candle. What started as a small outdoor gathering has grown into a beloved tradition celebrated by thousands of communities worldwide, with tens of thousands attending in person and millions watching or listening from home. Today, churches and communities continue this beautiful tradition. Lifting their voices in worship and thanksgiving for the birth of Jesus Christ. Singing by candlelight reminds us that Christ is the Light of the World, shining in the darkness.
We’d love your help!
